It’s time for another edition of the annual Brighton Fringe Art Yard Sale – a one-day art market packed with live art, exclusive pieces and special deals from 30+ artists exhibiting this year.
As ever, it’s a chance to snap up original limited-edition contemporary art, prints and one-offs directly from well-known contemporary artists who’ll be running their own stalls on Jubilee Square for the day.
Some of our favourites are back this year, including Haus of Lucy (don’t miss her lucky dip), Pure Evil, Sara Pope and Bonnie and Clyde. But half the fun is discovering new artists, chatting to your favourite creators and watching live art displays over the course of the day. You can see the full artist line-up here.
The work on sale is always hugely varied, spanning everything from street art and mixed media, to clothing, ceramics and prints, with pieces at a range of price points, whether you’re after a serious investment piece or just something cool for your wall.
And if you do find the perfect piece, there’ll be expert framers on-site to help get it wall-ready.
Previously, artists only accepted specially designed Art Yard Sale paper money bought from Enter Gallery (RIP) or directly at the sale site. But you can now pay for your art directly with cash or by card.
And entry is free, though tickets need to be booked in advance. Top tip: get there early if you’ve got your eye on something specific (and don’t mind queuing) – we know from past experience that the best bits don’t hang around for long. Keep an eye on their Instagram to see exactly what pieces are going to be on sale.
Sunday 31st May; 11am – 5pm; free (book your ticket here)
