What is Christmas without a rib-tickling panto to attend? If you’re yet to book your annual festive outing, then fret not for the timeless tale of Sleeping Beauty is coming in panto form to the Doubletree by Hilton Brighton Metropole this Christmas. You can expect a bucketload of ‘oh no he isn’t’ and ‘he’s behind you’ as well as a host of live music, laugh-out-loud comedy and West End razzle-dazzle.
This is the biggest show to be held at the hotel, and with the cast including BBC Radio Sussex’s Allison Ferns on typically excellent form as the baddie, it promises to be a dazzling performance.
You know the classic fairytale: A wicked witch puts a curse on baby princess Aurora, causing her to prick her finger and fall into a long, deep sleep that can only be broken by true’s love kiss. Will her prince turn up in time? You know he will, but while you wait, you’ll get a joyous watch with jaw-dropping stage sets, incredible costumes and some clever special effects. Plus the venue itself will be dressed for Christmas with seasonal lights and beautifully decorated trees.
And if you love panto, but prefer something a little (ok, a lot) less child-friendly (tagline: who’s going to give Aurora the prick), then for two nights only (28th and 29th December), they’re putting on a sassy, no-holds-barred adults-only version of the show.
If you pop ‘FLASH50’ in at checkout between 13th and 15th December, you’ll score yourself a nice 50 percent off tickets on certain dates, including the second night of the adult panto.
From Thursday 19th December – Monday 30th December (adults-only show is on 28th December only); various times; from £14.25
