andrew lincoln to star in a christmas carol at the old vic

The OG lockdown forced London’s Old Vic to close, but like many other theatres, they took their productions online and streamed performances through their In Camera series.

The theatre still isn’t in a position to open so their festive offering of perennial seasonal favourite, A Christmas Carol will be online, too.

Andrew Lincoln is taking on the role of Scrooge, accompanied by a full cast of 15. Each production will be performed live on the Old Vic stage but unlike normal times (remember those?), the audience will be watching from home.

Prices start at £40, which gives you one unique link to access the performance. You might think that’s pricy for an online experience, but the arts kept many of us going during the lockdowns, yet suffered dramatic financial losses themselves.

We’re always happy to pay to see Andrew Lincoln and, in any case, we reckon the ticket price is worth it to ensure our theatres are able to keep going.

Sunday 12th – Thursday 24th December 2020; from £20
