Oska Bright Film Festival returns with bumper edition

Oska Bright film festival kicks off on Monday 11th March. Started by a group of frustrated learning-disabled filmmakers in 2004, it’s grown to become the leading festival for films made by or featuring people with learning disabilities or autism.

Taking place across five venues in Brighton and Lewes, this 11th edition kicks off with heart-warming documentary This is going to be big in Brighton Dome’s newly restored Corn Exchange.

Over the course of the week, there are screenings of shorts across multiple themes, from documentaries to animation, as well as feature-length films.

‘Best of’ screenings at the weekend wrap things up perfectly, showcasing a wee bit of everything the festival has to offer.

The festival is committed to making all their screenings as inclusive as possible, so all films will be subtitled, many will have a BSL interpreter and they’ll all be very relaxed.

And One Bum Cinema Club, possibly the world’s tiniest movie theatre, is back for the festival too – you’ll find the one-person film hut at the Jubilee Library.
