Celebrating amazing women across music, comedy, theatre, dance, performance poetry and film, there’s lots to love at The Old Market’s Reigning Women Season.
The programme kicks off in February with a comedy party, with big-hitters Jen Brister, Alexandra Haddow and more bringing the belly laughs.
These are some of our other highlights:
- Ceyda Tanc Dance’s Kizlar, a terpsichorean (good word, right?) celebration of what it means to be a woman
- Loud and lively comedian (and celeb hustler) Jessica Fostekew’s Mettle – you’ve probably seen her on Live at the Apollo or a million panel shows
- Naomi Wood’s Gobbess, a genre-defying multi-disciplinary performance that combines storytelling and aerial arts
- Vivid, a showcase of fantastic new talent, from spoken word artist Aflo The poet to soul and R&B vocalist Scarlett Fae
And, there’s a philanthropic note to it all, too: Reigning Women also raises awareness and funds for local women’s charities and good causes, including Brighton Women’s Centre, Rise and Lewes FC.
