The Old Market’s Reigning Women season is back to celebrate kick-ass women

Celebrating amazing women across music, comedy, theatre, dance, performance poetry and film, there’s lots to love at The Old Market’s Reigning Women Season.

The programme kicks off in February with a comedy party, with big-hitters Jen Brister, Alexandra Haddow and more bringing the belly laughs.

These are some of our other highlights:

  • Ceyda Tanc Dance’s Kizlar, a terpsichorean (good word, right?) celebration of what it means to be a woman
  • Loud and lively comedian (and celeb hustler) Jessica Fostekew’s Mettle – you’ve probably seen her on Live at the Apollo or a million panel shows
  • Naomi Wood’s Gobbess, a genre-defying multi-disciplinary performance that combines storytelling and aerial arts
  • Vivid, a showcase of fantastic new talent, from spoken word artist Aflo The poet to soul and R&B vocalist Scarlett Fae

And, there’s a philanthropic note to it all, too: Reigning Women also raises awareness and funds for local women’s charities and good causes, including Brighton Women’s Centre, Rise and Lewes FC.
