Bulgaria’s acclaimed Varna International Ballet and Orchestra are visiting the UK for the first time in their 75-year history. And, happily, they’re landing in Brighton for a three-day run, performing some of the most famous classical ballets out there.
For ultimate romance (it is on on Valentine’s Day, after all), there’s Swan Lake, the greatest romantic ballet of all time, brought to life by Tchaikovsky’s haunting and unforgettable score.
Or there’s Giselle, the chilling and heart-rending tale of love, treachery and forgiveness – it’s beautifully poignant – or The Nutcracker, the famous family-friendly fantasy ballet that transports the audience to a magical world as night falls on Christmas Eve.
We’d say they’re en pointe but that would be tutu much.
