It’s pissing it down as we write this and the days are getting shorter, so we reckon it’s high time for a cracking competition to raise the spirits (and the roof).
Comfort food and belly laughs are a great combo, so we’ve teamed up with our pizza-slinging pals at Pizza Pilgrims to bring you two tasty prize packages.
Each package is for two people and includes entry to one of their two new events, both held in their cool indoor football pitch in the basement. If you win, you’ll get two tickets to the quiz (Thursday 2nd November) or the comedy night (Wednesday 15th November), two pizzas of your choice and two drinks of your choice (alcoholic drinks included). The two packages are worth £50 and £60 respectively, so you can please your belly and your pockets at the same time.
Here’s the need-to-know for the quiz: Hosted by trivia master extraordinaire Quiz Face (he won a Brighton Fringe award this year), this is far from your average pub quiz. If the name doesn’t mean anything to you, you can expect some heavy loop pedal usage, lots of audience interaction, some seriously off-the-wall questions, and a bucketload of laughs.

Each team (of up to eight players ) will face three rounds of trivia, with the opportunity to win drinks, dough (in all senses of the word), and more. Sample question: Can you guess the rap tune that’s being sung in the style of The Smiths? See what we mean?
And the comedy: the PP team have put together another great line-up for their second outing of ‘Hold The Cheese’ (the only cheese round here is on the pizzas), including a yet-to-be-revealed ‘mystery TV star’ headliner. Ooh!
Comedian and writer Will Duggan will be hosting the night, with Brighton-based funny people James Danielewski (you might have seen his Fringe show where he riffed on how being gay means you don’t need to get a job), Kate McGann (we’ve seen her before and she was bloody brilliant), and comedian and podcast (Insane In the Men Brain) host Rich Wilson providing even more laughs.

The competition is only open to UK residents over the age of 18. It closes on Wednesday, 1st November at midday. Entries received after this will not be counted. Two winners will be chosen at random after the closing date and notified by email after the closing date.
The winners will receive either: two tickets to the quiz on 2nd November, and vouchers for two pizzas and two drinks, or: two tickets to the comedy on 15th November, and vouchers for two pizzas and two drinks. Tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable and there is no cash alternative. Ticket holders must be over 18 – photo ID is required.
