BOTI loves…

We get out and about trying lots of new products from (mostly Sussex-based) indie businesses and sometimes we’re very lucky and samples get sent to us. So, welcome to our new bi-monthly feature, a few of the things we’re really loving this week (in keeping with our editorial ethos, even if we’ve been sent products for free, you can be sure they’ll only feature here if we genuinely do rate them.). Let us know what you think!

Swizzels x bird and blend tea boxes

Bird & Blend x Swizzels teas

Brighton-based tea brand Bird & Blend have done a lot of collabs over the years, but we reckon this is one of our favourites to date. They’ve teamed up with childhood-dream sweet brand Swizzels, creating a nostalgic flavour explosion in a cute gift box. There are four different sweet blends to try, Love Hearts, Drumstick, Parma Violet and Refreshers. Our favourite is the Love Hearts, which combines apple pieces, rosehip, hibiscus and elderberries for a delicious blend of fruity sweetness. To parrot a Love Hearts message, Bird & Blend x Swizzels, You’re Loved.

filthy faace face bar

Filthy Faace face and body bar

We’ve been fans of vegan skincare brand Faace since they first started out with just masks back in 2020 (the sexy branding, the packaging, swoon). They’ve now launched their first face and body bar and needless to say, it’s got a good name, Filthy Faace. But it’s not just a pretty fa(a)ce: unlike your average soap, this 100-percent natural vegan beauty doesn’t strip your skin of moisture. This chunky lilac bar is packed with skin-loving coconut oil, olive oil and shea butter, plus it’s good for reducing your environmental impact and it looks good in the shower. It’s a win-win from us.

haus of lucy gucci lidl t-shirt

Haus of Lucy Gucci x Lidl T-shirt

We love Lucy Bryant’s – aka Haus of Lucy – subversive take on contemporary culture in her work, from adding an easyJet plane across the sunset of a 15th century painting to turning a vintage ceramic cottage into a Poundland with a half-price sale. So it’s no surprise that we (and half of Instagram) are all over her brilliant Gucci x Lidl tees, which playfully highlight the cost-of-living crisis and, let’s face it, look pretty good too. We also love the ‘story’ behind them: they’re the product of a collab between Gucci and Lidl, but brand ambassador Jared Leto was not a fan, so he sicked his cult on the creative director, forcing him to shred the tees. Instead, they were shipped to a remote Pacific island where the brilliant Lucy saved them from a life of extinction and freedom from social media fame. Those lucky tees. Want to give one a new home?
