book now: brighton comedy garden
Laughter is the kind of natural high we like here at BOTI HQ. The side-splitting-I can’t actually breathe-my abs are going to hurt tomorrow kind of stuff. If you’re partial to a chuckle or two (who isn’t?) then roll up, roll up, because the Brighton Comedy Garden is coming back to the city in July and you’re guaranteed to get face ache.
Yes, we know that festival month isn’t over quite yet, but if the usual comedy come-down is anything to go by, we’d recommend getting yourselves tickets to July’s line-up sharpish.
Back in full fettle after last year’s socially distanced event, some of the best comedians of the minute will be landing in Preston Park, with eight open-air shows taking place across five days.
Comic legends and a hand-picked bunch of rising stars alike will be gracing the stage over the course of the week with each show featuring a mix of laugh-inducing talent. From Mock The Week regular fixture Sara Pascoe (Saturday day), podcast supremo Adam Buxton (Sunday day), the legendary Dylan Moran (Sunday evening) to the superbly understated Simon Amstell (Thursday evening), there’s something for most comedy tastes.
The event was set up by siblings Will Briggs and Cass Randolph (pictured below) in 2019. The duo are behind Greenwich Comedy Festival (Time Out’s ‘favourite London comedy festival’) and their equally popular Bristol Comedy Garden, so you know you’re in good hands!
The festival-style set-up brings bars with craft beers and cocktails to suit the (hopefully sunny) summer weather. There will be fair-trade coffee roasters too, so you’ll find something whatever your mood.
They’ve thought about your tummies as well as your tickles, with a big focus on tasty street-food treats from a curated line-up of the city’s foodie scene.
Take a look at their full line up before booking, but get in there quick if you don’t want to miss out on your favourites!`
