The TikTok-viral, interactive Karen’s Diner is opening a permanent restaurant in Brighton and is set to turn even the politest of diners into full entitled Karen mode. We’re not sure how we feel about this, but if paying to get insulted sounds fun to you, then you might love this.
If you didn’t make it down to the pop-up that took place earlier this year, here’s what to expect: seriously sassy servers with one hell of an attitude who make you play excruciating games. Rudeness is an art form here and the waiting staff will give every bit as good as they get. Just ask to speak to the manager, and see what happens… And heaven help you if you admit to being a food blogger. Yep, this interactive experience is not one for the shy and retiring.
Fortunately, the American diner-style food promises to be infinitely better than the service, with hand-crafted burgers, wings and other artery-busting foods on the menu, plus a good selection of cocktails and decent beers. And if your name actually is Karen and you can handle the inevitable cascade of insults they’ll throw at you, that gets you a free drink.
