independent venue week returns for 2023

Independent Venue Week is back for its tenth year, with more than 1,000 live events taking place at over 260 venues across the country, with lots of Sussex venues participating too.

Pip Blom, Kula Shaker, Amber Arcades, The Slow Readers Club, Editors, The Subways, The Mysterines, Willie J Healey, and The Snuts are just some of the acts performing along with IVW ambassadors Philip Selway of Radiohead, Young Fathers, Adwaith and beabadoobee.

Steve Lamacq is also hosting a series of IVW shows on BBC 6 Music, broadcasting from a different venue on each weekday, featuring performances from Sprints (at Ramsgate Music Hall), Grove (at Hare and Hounds, Birmingham), Young Fathers (at Norwich Arts Centre), The Murder Capital (at KU Stockton, North Yorkshire) and Suede (at Stereo, Glasgow) – sadly, none of these will be in Brighton but you can catch all the chat and the live sets on the radio.
