There’s hip hop from Dr Syntax and CMPND, as well as up-and-coming musicians, a panel talk, an art exhibition. You’ll also have a chance to meet the team behind Room to Rant, a Sussex rap and spoken word initiative for young men, creating safe spaces for them to “get stuff off their chest” via free workshops led by professional rappers. Tristan’s performed for heaps of seriously big names over the years, but he’s now showcasing his and his quartet’s talent (drums, woodwind, piano, bass) on his first album, the live-recorded View from Above. You won’t be surprised to hear it’s a jazz record, but you can hear touches of Latin and fusion influences too.
