brighton local sets up new dog festival

It’s Wednesday woof day! We can make that a thing, right? Anyway, as you know, we love our dogs over here at BOTI towers, so needless to say we’re looking forward to The Crafty Dog Festival, a new wooftastic event set up by Brighton local Lauren Leake-Lyall to celebrate our canine companions and raise funds and awareness for the Sussex-based Say Aphasia charity.

If you too are a firm fan of your, or someone else’s, four-legged bestie (NB we’re not advocating dog-napping here), then the event is a great opportunity to make new furry friends. You can enter your pup in the dog show, too – with categories from cutest puppy to best sausage catcher and best fancy dress, there’s something for every dog. Get your entries in now or you can sign up until midday on the day.

There will also be a raffle where you can win everything from stylish ceramics to tasty dog treats like these, not to mention a whole host of stalls where you’ll able to get your paws on homemade dog treats and accessories (dog bandana, anyone?) and discover doggy artists and local dog-related charities.

Say Aphasia supports those with aphasia, a communication disorder that affects people’s ability to read, write or speak, by providing weekly drop-in groups for those with the condition to get support and socialise.

And, while we’re talking all things dog, don’t forget the Pup Up Cafe at the end of the month!
