Welcome one and all to what we like to call the weekend! Well, almost. And we've got some great stuff for you in our round-up of Friday to Sunday's activities. But there's more! You've got until Sunday to enjoy the Brighton Early Music Festival and CineCity's still going strong (it's our top pick this Sunday), so you'll be spoilt for choice. And, don't forget, there's real-life Cluedo, or the chance to can swap your sofa for snuggles in one of our favourite outdoor drinking spots. Gone to market Once upon a time, a beautiful undercover market came to town. It brought together 45 carefully selected makers and designers who delighted the good townspeople of Brighton with their wares. And good news, fair Brightonians (and Hoveites) as that is now! That very market has returned once again with its first festive edition of the year. Long live the Fairy Tale Fair! The fabulous Headblush Glitta will be bringing her gorgeous pots of sparkle on Sunday, and there will be plenty of other design delights to please the eye (and wallet). There will also be face-painting, live music from vintage harmony trio The Bonnie Bootleggers (between 1.30pm and 2.15pm) and stalls selling homemade treats, as well as all the permanent shops and cafes in the Open Market to choose from. And we all lived happily ever after (or at least until Sunday). You've got another chance to explore the ghostly happenings behind the doors of Preston Manor as paranormal investigators Sussex Darkside returns to their old haunt (geddit?). The house is a wee bit spooky even when it's light outside and as it’s well known for being incredibly haunted, with lots of ghostly figures and weird phenomena spotted over the years, there are sure to be a few frights in store. Some even say it’s the most haunted place in the UK. So, what better location for a ghost hunt, right? If you love to get spooked then this is for you. If you chickened out last time the hunt was in town, are you brave enough this time?*shakes head fearfully* Saturday 10th November, 8.00pm – midnight; £45 Preston Manor, Preston Drove, Brighton BN1 6SD Sussexdarkside.co.uk It's rag time Imagine it's Sunday afternoon and you're just thinking now would be a great time for a cup of tea...Well, what if that tea could come with a slice of dancing nostalgia, as well as some delicious cake? If that tickles your tootsies, then you'll love this Remembrance Sunday's Ragroof Tea Dance from vintage dance event company The Ragroof Players. The event is celebrating the people who've lost their lives in war over an afternoon of stepping out to the Charleston, ragtime, quick-time foxtrot and more to a selection of fabulous vintage tunes. Plus, dancing couple Anna and Sasza will be dazzling the crowd with their moves from the period. And there's no need to worry if you don't your tango from your toes as the friendly hosts and welcoming dance classes will get you shaking your stuff on the floor in no time. Sadly, thought, it'll be one of the last chances to catch all The Players together as they recently announced they would be disbanding the company and the end of the year to focus on other projects. But the Ragroof Tea Dances will live on, phew!
