Sugar & Smoke
The beautiful team over at Chard are heading back to the Garden House later this month, for two evenings of delicious pop-ups as they bring Sugar & Smoke to the table. On Friday 21st and Saturday 22nd September, their six-course menu brings a two-way twist, as guests can choose from cheese and greens or meat and fish. We’ve got our eye on the smoked aubergine, pomegranate and cardamon jam, yoghurt and flatbread dish. From scarlet jelly, goats’ cheese and walnut to smoked duck, torn figs and hazelnut, the delicious menu will have you drooling as you tuck in whilst the gorgeous Garden House surroundings will feed your eyes.

Brighton TedX
The journeys and adventures that we experience shape who we become, so who better to hear them from then the Daring, Different and Dangerous! That’s the focus for this year’s Brighton TedX and the line-up of speakers so far does not disappoint. If you don’t leave the Brighton Dome with a dried tear on your cheek or a burning desire to go and do something wonderful, then we’d be surprised. The day plans to celebrate a collection of ideas that are worth spreading, from inspiring speakers to life-changing stories. You will be left feeling energised and inspired to go forth and live your own incredible adventures. It’s one not to miss.
Friday 26th October, 9.00am – 5.00pm; £40
Brighton Dome, Church Street, Brighton BN1 1UE
Fire & Wild forage and wander
In case you hadn’t guessed, we’re a big fan of what Fire & Wild are all about. Their October event will bring you yet another different experience, with a special Forage & Feast event. Kicking off a little earlier at 10.45am (that’s for a free transfer pick-up from Lewes Station), expert mycologist Jesper Launder will be leading guests through an exciting day of mushroom foraging in some stunning Sussex woods. You’ll learn to identify different types of edible (and, importantly, safe!) fungi as you gather ingredients for the evening feast. You’ll then head to camp for a fire-cooked tasting menu made up of your very own foraging efforts earlier that day. Each dish will be inspired by your journey through the autumnal landscape and you’ll have local wines and wild infusions paired with each dish. It’s a feast to remember!
Saturday 20th October, 10.45am – 8.00pm, £145
Pick-up from Lewes Station and transport to secret locations in Sussex
