there’s still time to order a finish-at-home feast for christmas

Eat + Drink

If you want to stay at home to eat this Christmas Day but don’t really fancy being stuck in the kitchen all day peeling potatoes, then how about a finish-at-home feast? 2020 may be a year that many of us would rather forget, but with these offerings, we’ll at least have a meal to remember.

Forgotten Cuts
If you’ve never had a Forgotten Cuts roast before, you’re missing out: full of flavour, perfectly cooked and generously sized, they’re bloody delicious, so we’re licking our lips just thinking about their Christmas offering. Plus, the chef-run food delivery service only uses local, grass-fed, free-range animals and produce, so you don’t need to worry about provenance.

Omnivores can choose from a chicken liver parfait starter, with a main of bacon-wrapped turkey with extravagant takes on all the usual trimmings, such as chestnut sprout hash. Vegetarians and vegans are just as well catered for with a roasted Jerusalem artichoke and truffle soup and a vegan seasonal vegetable wellington, that you can add cheese to if you like. And their boogie bars (pictured) are a taste sensation. You’ll know your purchase is doing good, too, as 10% of profits will go to Brighton homeless charity Off The Fence.

Full instructions for the 30-minute heat-up are included and you don’t have to order a certain number of courses; you can just pick individual items providing you spend at least £10 a head. They’re also doing an insanely good menu for NYE if you’re thinking ahead.
£10/head minimum spend, £5 delivery; delivery or collection on the morning of 24th December

Riddle & Finns Christmas Day Feast
If you’re looking for some real razzle-dazzle this Christmas Day, then step right up. Riddle & Finns are bringing all the extravagance, but with none of the hard work. Exactly what we need after a year like this. Their finish-at-home feast – and it really is a feast – is a truly decadent, six-course sensation that champions super-fresh locally sourced products and exquisite flavours.

This is reflected in the price (£115 per person not including wines), but sometimes it’s worth splashing out, right? Pricey it may be, but you’re getting a lot of food for that buck. Think indulgent canapés (tuna cornetto, salmon caviar, truffle custard and charcoal bread) to get you in the feasting mood, followed by lobster, crab, a beef Wellington fillet with all (and we mean all) the trimmings and an oh-so-sweet finale of trifle, salted caramel truffles, chocolate and yuzu macarons. It’s basically foodie heaven.

They’re also throwing a lavish breakfast that includes caviar and salmon into the mix. And with step-by-step (and, importantly) easy-to-follow finishing instructions included, you’ll feel like a pro finishing it off. Just don’t miss the order cut-off!
From £115 per person; order by midnight on 18th December; Christmas Eve delivery (to BN1 – BN3) or collection
