The festival where coffee meets art (and Fatboy Slim)

Brighton’s getting its first ever Pepita Festival and it’s kind of a big deal. Five days of art, music, coffee, and community vibes that might actually make your week.

So who are Pepita Coffee? They’re a UK coffee brand obsessed with coffee and art, and one of their partners is Brighton’s own Norman Cook, aka Fatboy Slim. The brand teams up with a range of cool artists to create gorgeous collectable tins to house their brews. Now they’re bringing all that caffeine-infused arty energy to their new festival at Hove’s British Engineerium.

Fatboy Slim himself is kicking the party off with a signing at 6pm on Wednesday 27th August, joined by anonymous Brighton street artist The Postman.

On Thursday, there’s an opening party for The Postman’s huge anniversary show – seven years’ worth of the collective’s iconic murals all under one roof – and the exhibition will be open all weekend.

What else? Live music, DJs, craft markets and workshops, plus pop-up exhibitions, and original street and contemporary artworks from over 20 artists, including the likes of Broken Hartist, George Fox, Haus Of Lucy, Thumbs, Jana Nicole, and loads more (all available to buy if you can’t stop staring). You can even take a free tour of the beautiful Victorian venue itself.

And if you’ve got kids with you, they can get messy (the fun way) at pop-up spray studios or have a go at street art.

Of course, it’s a coffee brand so decent brews are guaranteed, but there’s also a bar and Carlito Burrito will be serving up Mexican street food goodies.

Oh, and did we mention… it’s all free? Yep, see you there!
