Sussex producer Roebuck Estates is taking over the Royal Pavilion Rooms and terrace for a summer of Sussex sparkling wine and wine flights.

For July and August, the Royal Pavilion Rooms will be home to a new sparkling wine bar celebrating Sussex fizz, giving you somewhere to sip vintage bubbles with arguably one of the best views in the city.
The pop-up comes courtesy of West Sussex producer Roebuck Estates, whose sparkling wines will be available by the glass, bottle and even magnum if you’re feeling particularly celebratory. There’ll also be curated wine flights, so you can try three different vintages without committing to a full bottle.
The bar will be tucked inside the Royal Pavilion Rooms, with a pretty terrace overlooking the Pavilion gardens, and you’ll also be able to pick up bottles to take home from the adjoining gift shop (where you also access the rooms from).
If you fancy making more of a day of it, you can still head to Roebuck’s vineyard near Petworth for the full countryside experience. This summer, though, they’re bringing a taste of the South Downs into the heart of Brighton instead.
Roebuck also says this will be the UK’s first long-running bar dedicated solely to English sparkling wine. Whether or not that’s the case, we’re always happy to see another place championing Sussex’s excellent wine scene.
It’s not just about drinking, either. Throughout the summer, Roebuck says it’ll be teaming up with Brighton restaurants and local food producers for a programme of special food-and-wine events – watch this space!

The bar opens on Saturday 11th July and then will be open Wednesday to Sunday from midday until 9pm, with later opening at weekends.
