Neon in Nature festival throws secret fundraiser party

If you’ve ever found yourself at a Neon party or festival before (we have and highly recommend), you’ll know they’re not quite like anything else in Brighton. Here’s why: a huge mix of musical talent from around the world, intimate and unusual settings, plus a crowd that’s as welcoming and community-focused as it is eclectic.

If you haven’t (yet), well, this bank holiday Saturday might just be your chance to end the summer on a serious high AND make some new friends.

A Neon party is not your average Brighton night out. There are no door tickets or casual walk-ins. It’s guest list only and the secret party location is only revealed once you’ve bought your £20 ticket. And this is a party with purpose, too: all funds raised from ticket sales will go to supporting medical aid in Palestine.

Music-wise, the party ranges from alternative folk, jazz and soul to house, afrobeat and disco, or, as founder Cameron Saul says “from the tropical to the cosmic”.

This Saturday, it’s a suitably eclectic mix on the decks (and on stage): Balearic Ultras, Big Red Al and Bongo Soundsystem are keeping things hot on the dancefloor, Cameron Saul and Roman June are serving live goodness, Nick the Record’s digging deep for the good stuff, and the inimitable Wildblood & Queenie are closing out with pure disco sparkle.

Cameron, together with his friend Jon Lee, has been hosting Neon parties once a year in Brighton since 2008. They’ve seen friendships and romances blossom in the Neon community and the first Neon baby is arriving soon!

Neon has “always been a celebration of life before the seasons change with dear friends and quality live and electronic music,” said Cameron, adding that the parties always raise money for causes they care about.

“Medical Aid Palestine (MAP) is doing amazing work on the ground and every penny raised from Neon will support their vital work,” he said.
