Brighton beer lovers, assemble, the city-wide indie Locals Beer Festival is back

Sometimes it feels like you don’t go a day without another beer festival announcement. Not that we’re complaining, mind you.

This time it’s the Brighton Locals Beer Festival making its glorious return for 2025 – and it’s all about celebrating the city’s indie beer scene in style.

For four glorious, hop-fuelled days, 27 of Brighton’s finest pubs and 15 breweries will be pouring the good stuff and flying the flag for local beer and community spirit (by the pintload).

The concept’s simple: grab a festival map from any participating spot, plot your mammoth pub crawl, collect stamps, win prizes, and discover some brilliant local brewers along the way.

The line-up reads like a love letter to Brighton’s boozers: from The Independent and The Brunswick to The Pond and The Hand in Hand, plus taprooms from the likes of Unbarred and Loud Shirt. In short: you’re going to need a sturdy liver and comfortable shoes.

When: Thursday 14th – Sunday 17th August
Where: Across Brighton and Hove – see the full pub list below
Why: Because local beer tastes better
