Here’s a meaty one: London steak slingers Flat Iron are finally opening their first Brighton restaurant – and they’re doing it in style. Or, more accurately, in steak.
To celebrate the launch that non-vegans have been eagerly waiting for, they’re giving away 300 free Wagyu steaks on Thursday 16th October from 5pm. Yep, you read that right. A whopping 300 freshly cooked steaks. Absolutely free. It’s first come, first served, so if you want a piece of the action (literally), get in that inevitable queue early.
Once they’re open properly on Friday (from midday), you can expect to tuck into Flat Iron’s signature feather-blade steak, another name for the flat iron cut, that’s big on flavour, tenderness and juiciness. You’ll also find blackboard specials like Wagyu cuts, a green chilli cheeseburger made from their own Yorkshire herd, and sides worth showing up for: beef-dripping chips, bone marrow garlic mash, creamed spinach, and roast aubergine with tomato and basil.
You’ll find the new two-floor restaurant on Ship Street, just off the Lanes, so your post-beach pint now comes with a side of sexy steakhouse swagger. See you in the queue.
Free steaks from 5pm on Thursday 16th October; restaurant opens on Friday 17th at midday; bookings open Friday too
