Brighton’s art scene is getting a summer shake-up. Enter Gallery is back in town (hurrah!), but rather than another bricks-and-mortar space, they’re moving into office and co-working space Projects Brighton to offer a closer, more personal look at contemporary art.
Their new home isn’t just a gallery, though, it’s designed to be a place where you can actually explore art in a way that suits you, from admiring limited-edition prints to seeing what’s new, having a one-to-one consultation, or just asking the arty questions you’ve always wanted an answer to.
The gallery’s also leaning into Brighton’s social side with a host of exhibitions, events, workshops, and talks, aimed at making the sometimes-intimidating world of art inclusive, friendly and unpretentious.
It’s all kicking off on Thursday 28th August with Evolution, an exhibition launch evening that’s part celebration, part sneak peek: a chance to check out the work from some of Enter Gallery’s stable of artists (Peter Blake, Sara Pope, Jayson Lilley, Ruth Mulvie (work pictured), chat with the people behind it, and generally soak up some Brighton creativity.
Artists taking part on the night are mixing the classic and the brand-new, each showcasing two pieces. Some pieces nod to the gallery’s past – the ones collectors might already recognise – while others push things in new directions, reflecting fresh ideas and creative twists. It’s a chance to see how artists evolve, and maybe even catch the next big thing before anyone else.
It’s free to attend, but you’ll need to RSVP. Can’t make the launch night? You can make an appointment to view the exhibition collection here.
Launch event: Thursday 28th August; 5pm – 9pm; free
