Brighton Palace Pier is bringing a bit of old-school seaside magic back with The End of the Pier Show, a new 45-minute family-friendly musical running for two weeks in August.
Set, appropriately, in Horatio’s Bar at the end of the pier, it mixes classic seaside tunes with songs from artists who’ve graced the pier’s stage over the years.
The show – created by BBC Sussex’s Allison Ferns and choreographer Jack Pallister – tells the pier’s story through lively characters and a toe-tapping soundtrack, all wrapped up in a relaxed, inclusive vibe – no loud bangs or flashing lights here.
Plus, audiences can move around the space and get involved, making it more than your usual sit-down theatre.
At £6.13 a ticket (includes entry to the pier), it’s a low-key way to soak up some Brighton history and seaside spirit – but it’s only on for two weeks, so get in quick if you want a slice of the fun.
