The wonderful Brighton Illustration Fair is roaring back after a six-year break – two full days of art, oddities and creative collisions are landing on Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th November. This isn’t just a market – it’s a playground of creativity, inspiration and possibility.
Expect the floors of Wagner Hall and the Wing at the Brighton Centre (double the venue = double the fun) to be packed with work by guest luminaries: Gemma Correll (the queen of witty dog-and-cat fun), Tara Booth (candid autobiographical comics), Blast Skates (their Blast Skates mascot deck-doodling decks workshop is one to book), plus Tat Vision, Owen Davey, Murugiah, Hannah-Michelle Bayley, Tom Bingham, Laina Deene, Dapo Adeola, Donnie O’Donnell and a whopping 130 more exhibitors – each bringing their own voice across stalls, talks and workshops.
And speaking of those workshops and talks, there’s plenty to dive into across both days: deck-doodling sessions, board-game making, patches and split-pin puppets, draw-along superhero sketching, artists in conversation, the dos and don’ts behind finding an agent for your graphic novel, a charity shop tour/show and tell, and even the opportunity to get your portfolio reviewed.
