book now: beans on toast’s return to brighton

Beans is back. No, we’re not talking about the tomato sauce-soaked haricot’s return to favour, we mean the songwriter. Not familiar? Beans, aka Jay McAllister, sings folk that covers everything from funny ditties about drugs and sex to passionate political protest songs in his inimitable gruff tones.

If you like a side of surrealism with your folk, then don’t miss the baseball-capped Essex folk hero’s Brighton date. He’ll be playing songs from his forthcoming new album The Inevitable Train Wreck that takes in everything from Boris Johnson and Brexit to barometer-busting temperatures. And he’ll also be delving into his extensive back catalogue (we’re hoping to hear ‘MDMAmazing’ again). Hurrah!
