WOAH, have we got one hell of a line up for you this weekend. We’ve already given you some tips on how to get the weekend started early tonight with the Women in Music event at Lighthouse and one of our favourite Sussex festivals Bimble Bandada kicking off today too. There is SO much more going on in the last weekend of July that we wish we could tell you about it all. With Pride Weekend just over a week away, here are our picks for the next few days to help you get warmed up and party ready.

The lovely team at Tidy print have teamed up with illustrator Ryan Gillett for an evening of Paw Prints on Friday 27th July. Ryan will be running an in-store workshop to celebrate the launch of his new collection which is exclusive to Tidy Print. We are big fans! You’ll have the chance to screen print your own cat or dog mini print, with Ryan helping you to illustrate their face and features. WOW. Your very own Ryan Gillett collaboration. You’ll get to take away your totally unique design and the workshop is completely free. There will even be some beer, kindly provided by Yeastie Boys UK. What a way to start the weekend!

Pop-up pictures
The Pop-up Picturehouse is back in Brighton this weekend for their second weekend of fab outdoor films. This time they are heading to Preston Manor to show Call Me By Your Name on Friday 27th, La La Land on Saturday 28th and The Greatest Showman Singalong on Sunday 29th July. What a line-up! It’s a beautiful location, with the outdoor screen set up in the gardens of Preston Manor. Doors open at 7.30pm with the films kicking off at 9.00pm, so you can get down there early to enjoy the last of the evening sun with something cold from their pop-up bar. Bring a cushion and some cash for the bar!

Become a salvage sister
Salvage sister Charis Williams is back with her planter making workshop this Saturday, guiding DIY enthusiasts through the process of using pallets to make something beautiful for your garden. Her four-hour workshop will equip you with the knowledge and skills to go forth and create… trust us, you’ll have a whole new appreciation for pallets. It kicks off at 10.30am and runs until 3pm with a 30-minute lunchbreak. You’ll get to use some of her amazing power tools too, if you like that sort of thing. If you book this Saturday, bring a friend and you can save 50% on your second ticket when you use ’50OFF2ND’ at the checkout. We did one of her first planter workshops and it’s worth every penny and more.

From bowls to burpees
The guys behind Fitnesshub in Preston Circus are opening Fitnesshub Plus in Preston Park on Saturday, celebrating with a day packed with free workouts and fun. Alex and Adam have completely restored the old Georgian Bowls Club with a lot of love, bringing the space back to life and ready for action. Head down there on Saturday from 10.00am and get a sweat on with a variety of free classes and hear from some local health and fitness brands that will be popping up for the occasion. While the weather lasts, they will also be using the greens for workouts too! There will be a bouncy castle for the kids too.

Bend yourself into a new week
Calling all Brighton & Hove yoga lovers! If you’re a member of MoveGB and you’re into a bend and stretch whilst testing your core, then head to the Theatre Royal this Sunday for a yoga class with a difference. You’ll enter the building through the stage door as you’re invited to take centre stage for the one hour class. Bring your own mat or hire one for a £5 donation to the Rockinghorse charity. Upward facing dog your way to the same incredible view shared with a shed load of stars over the years, looking out from the stage.

Swing into Sunday
Swing Patrol are back at the Brighton Bandstand on Sunday evening, inviting anyone and everyone to join them for a dance at 6.30-8.30pm as the sun goes down. Dust off your dancing shoes and get down there for some free summer swing dancing, from Balboa to Blues. It’s the perfect way to see the weekend out. If you don’t fancy getting stuck in, it’s well worth just stopping by to see the talented bunch in action.
