what to do this weekend

It’s the weekend and the sun has still got its jaunty little hat on. So far, so good. But if you’re stuck for ideas of what to do with yourself, have a look at our weekend plans for inspiration.

We’re just ordinary people
Founded by artists Jolie Booth and Lucy Malone after a successful Kickstarter campaign, the Museum of Ordinary People is a fascinating pop-up that chronicles the “magic and mundanity” of everyday life, with exhibits created by and about ordinary members of the public. There’s also an adults’ workshop on diary writing and an evening discussion where you can find out more about MOOP and the need for museums to showcase counter-culture.
Until 3rd June, 11.00am – 6.00pm; free/donation (but workshops ticketed)

Down to a fine art
Back for the fourth year, the Art Yard Sale is a fantastic opportunity to snap up some original limited-edition contemporary art at surprisingly affordable prices directly from the creators themselves. The exhibiting artists work across a wide range of areas, from street art and sculpture to mixed media and illustration, and with workshops and live music, too, there’s something for all tastes and pockets. Get ahead of the crowds by exchanging your cash for event organiser ArtRepublic’s ‘funny money’ – the only accepted currency – from 9.00am at the ArtRepublic gallery on Bond Street.
Sunday 3rd June, 11.00am – 5.00pm; free
