what to do this weekend: 15th – 17th February

The sun has been shining and the weekend is here, so we are more than ready to enjoy what the city has in store for us! We’ve already told you about how to get your hands on an Honest burger at Holler Brewery this weekend (not to mention their very own brew The Duke, which is available for £3 a pint while it lasts!) AND the Black Cat Cabaret event happening tonight. But, as always, there is plenty more to share with you. So here are a few of our top picks from the weekend’s activities in Brighton & Hove…

Love your beach, love a boogie…
If you’re not all outta love after this Valentine’s-fuelled week, then get your best litter-picking game on and head to the beach. Sponsored by the University of Sussex Students’ Union, the Love Your Beach Disco Beach Clean (mouthful!) is back and they promise to bring you a treasure chest of fun while you’re collecting some trash! There will be power ballads pumping through the silent disco and Bird & Blend Tea Co will be keeping you toasty with hot drinks, just try and remember your reusable cup to claim your free tea if you get cleaning. Fruity locals Lush will be giving prizes for the quirkiest beach finds, so get hunting.
Saturday 16th February, midday – 3.00pm; free
Meet at The Tempest Inn, 159-161 Kings Rd, Brighton BN1 1NB

A Sunday Session
What’s better than heading to the pub on a Sunday, ey? And this Sunday you can head to The Foghorn for the first taste of local brewers’ Lost Pier’s brand new Vanilla Bourbon Stout. Now that sounds tasty. What’s more, they’ll be offering guests a few cheese boards for the perfect pairing.
Sunday 7th February, midday – 5.00pm
The Foghorn, 55 Boundary Road, Hove, BN3 4EF

A clever concept
This Sunday at Komedia, The Concept is bringing a collaboration of musicians, singers, animators and artists together. Along with the audience (oh yes!), they’ll create a once-in-a-lifetime album that will have never been heard before, and will never be heard again. Fancy being part of this unique concept album that’s developed live on stage? Then get yourself a ticket before it sells out!
Sunday 18th February, 8.00pm; Tickets £6
Komedia, 44-47 Gardner Street, Brighton BN1 1UN

If you’re not enthused by that little lot, then get yourself a Brighton Festival programme and head to the beach. There’s plenty to get through and lots of planning to be done before tickets go on sale next Friday. Enjoy!
