there’s a new escape room in town

In an entirely different kind of Great Escape, Brighton’s newest escape room officially opens on Saturday and we’re pretty excited as it recreates a bank heist in a genuine old 1956 bank vault. Come on, who hasn’t dreamt of robbing a bank? We refuse to believe it’s just us harbouring Ocean’s Eleven-style heist fantasies.

Anyway, once you’ve donned your authentic robber-style balaclava (nice touch), the first challenge you and your teammates – they recommend teams of two to four people – have to get stuck into is to actually break into the vault. Easier said than done! You’ll attempt a number of games and puzzles in the well-thought-out 40-minute game – just make sure you get you and your haul out before the boys in blue arrive on the scene. And, in an escape-room first, if you get stuck, you can even WhatsApp your getaway driver Terrance for help!

Creators Will Armstrong and Daniel Ralphs wanted to create an accessible, immersive escape room that didn’t cost any more than a cinema ticket; an experience where it really feels like you’re robbing a bank, Will told BOTI. Right up our street!

In case you were confused by the sight of some masked gunmen bursting out of Presuming Ed’s a few weeks ago, it might make more sense now. Yep, they were filming their promo video!  Check it out below for a taster of what’s in store!

And, in an added Robin Hood-style bonus, ten percent of all ticket sales will go to the charity of your choice; you can pick from Missing People, Shelter or Mind.

Opens Saturday 27 April, then every day 9.00am – 5.00pm, until 11.00pm at weekends; from £8
Presuming Ed’s, 115-116 London Road, Brighton, BN14LJ
