Brighton gets exciting new Christmas fair

A new Christmas fair is coming to Brighton, bringing a much more local – and exciting – festive experience to St Peter’s Square than the last years’ more faceless commercial offerings.

Set up by three local events producers, Brighton Winter Fayre celebrates the very best of Brighton, with something for all tastes and ages.

In true eclectic Brighton fashion, you’ll find weekly local makers’ markets, free live music and entertainment in the square, a wide range of immersive creative workshops, Christmassy films, festive evenings out (think Barrioke, DIY DJ nights, cabaret and more), and even a Santa’s grotto.

And, of course, there’s plenty of food and drink to enjoy from the likes of What The Pitta, Chubbies, Two Donuts and The Barista Boys.

Unfortunately, it was announced on Friday 20th that the fair would close early because of the weekend’s forecast for high winds. It will therefore not be open on Saturday 21st or Sunday 22nd December.

“We’re very sad to be shutting our doors earlier than planned, but we hope everyone understands that safety comes first,” the organisers said on Friday.

Let’s hope it’s back next year!

Thursdays – Sundays in December (5th – 8th, 12th – 15th, 19th – 22nd); 10am – 11pm; from free
