book now: the book lovers’ supper club

Love books? Love supper? Well, what do you know, you’re not the only one and there’s even an event for it and November marks its sixth anniversary. If you haven’t been along to one of the Book Lovers’ Supper Club events before, then you’ve been missing out on seeing best-selling authors share their work and their inspirational stories over a delicious supper. But it’s not too late to redress the glaring gap in your social schedule as next month’s event is a corker.

Ruth Hogan, the author of one of 2017’s  best-selling books, The Keeper of Lost Things, will be discussing her latest novel, The Wisdom of Sally Red Shoes, a quirky, poignant tale of unexpected friendships, second chances and dark secrets, with Anne Youngson, who wrote Meet Me At The Museum, a beautiful tale of late-life love.

Held in the centre of the gorgeous village of Ditching, just outside Brighton, this month’s book chat includes the ultimate autumn comfort – fish and chips from Jupps, with vegetarian pie or pancake roll alternatives for non-meat-eaters. We’ve heard there may even be mince pies and, don’t worry, we’re pleased to tell you can buy wine, too.

Wednesday 28th November, doors 6.45pm, food from 7.00pm; £26 from tabl.com, £25 from Ditchling Post Office (those wanting veggie food options should email melanie.whitehouse1@gmail.com asap)
