Brighton’s Rizzle Kicks to play at The Great Escape

New music festival The Great Escape has announced that Brighton locals Rizzle Kicks will headline a spotlight show at the music festival in 2025. Returning to music after close to a decade away, the irreverent duo first played at the festival way back in 2011.

Known for their infectious, enthusiastic and energetic music, Jordan Stephens and Harley Sulé will be performing some of their classic hits, such as “Down With The Trumpets”, “Mama Do The Hump” and “Skip to the Good Bit”, as well as a selection of new material including latest single “Javelin”.

Nine years ago the pair mutually decided to bow out of the music scene for mental health reasons which they have both been open about: Harley citing struggles with anxiety and depression, and Jordan speaking frankly about dealing with an unhealthy relationship with drugs. Jordan has penned a book on masculinity and mental health, Avoidance, Drugs, Heartbreak and Dogs, while Harley’s been busy being a dad of two and writing songs with the likes of Tom Grennan, Celeste and Rachel Chinouriri.

The festival have also announced some of the 450+ bands playing at next year’s event, including Allie Sherlock, Betty, Brògeal, Chloe Qisha, Chloe Slater, Cliffords, common goldfish, Curtisy, Disgusting, Sisters, Elinborg, Jessy Blakemore, Keo, Konyikeh, Loshh, Luvcat, mudi sama, Queen Cult, Ray Bull, RUBII, Saïna, The Orchestra (For Now), The Stingrays, TTSSFU, and urika’s bedroom.
