New joy-first festival lands in Brighton this summer

POSTPONED – We’ll update when a new date is arranged.

Brighton and Hove is getting a brand new festival this summer and it’s shaping up to be less wellness gloss, more proper-feeling stuff. Meet Wild Love, the one-day festival in June that’s all about slowing the pace, dropping out of the noise and getting back into your body – but minus the preachy vibes that can sometimes come along for the ride.

Set at the historic British Engineerium in Hove, the festival’s pitching itself as a joy-first, people-first gathering rather than a perfectly curated one-size-fits-all “wellness lifestyle”. That means movement in all its forms (somatic practices, breathwork, sound journeys, ecstatic dance, EFT tapping), alongside thought-provoking talks, interactive workshops, DJs, poetry, spoken word, wood-fired sauna and cold-water immersion, a festival spa with massages, reiki facials, reflexology, and plenty of space to just… be. There’ll also be a festival ‘village’ with heaps of plant-based food, good coffee, stalls from local brands, and the sort of atmosphere that encourages proper chats with strangers you actually want to keep talking to. In short: there’s a lot of bang for your buck.

The festival’s the brainchild of local resident Deanne Oliver-Pickard – co-owner of Hove wellness studio Flow State, women’s community The Gather, long-time DJ and general expert community builder, so you know she’s got great pedigree. Her angle is clear: wellbeing shouldn’t feel exclusive, intimidating or trend-led, and it definitely shouldn’t come with a single “right” way to do it.

There’s also a solid giving-back element baked in, with £5 from every ticket going to Choose Love.

This is the first-ever Wild Love Festival, with plans to grow it into something bigger over the coming years – the aim being to create something that extends far beyond a single day. But for now, it’s a one-day invitation to reconnect, move, feel and remember what collective joy can look like when it’s done properly.

Saturday 6th June; 8am – 8pm; £15 – £95
