New festival brings week of tennis, padel and pickleball to Hove seafront

Hove Seafront is about to get seriously sporty. For one week, the beachside stretch will be transformed into a high-energy hub of racket sports, live music, and community vibes as the Trilogy Rackets Festival takes over Hove Beach Park from 21st – 27th July.

Hosted by The Progress Tour and powered by Game4Padel, the festival promises something for everyone – whether you’re a seasoned tennis player, curious about the rising padel trend, or just want to see what all the pickleball fuss is about. Expect tournaments, pro matches, taster sessions, expert-led workshops, food, drink, and a whole lot of good energy.

Taking place across Hove Beach Park’s newly opened courts – already a favourite for local racket fans – the event will also feature competitions and masterclasses in tennis, padel and pickleball. No need to be a pro, either: they say it’s open to all levels and ages, from curious beginners to hardcore smashers. And it’s a community event, so there are plenty of free tickets, too.

There’s a packed programme, including:

  • Tournaments in all three sports, with divisions for juniors, adults, and first-timers
  • Workshops, masterclasses and taster sessions led by top coaches and former pros (yes, actual Judy Murray will be there, along with Wimbledon Doubles Champ Jonathan Marray and GB padel pro Lisa Phillips)
  • Pro exhibition matches that promise serious wow factor
  • Live music, family-friendly activities and pop-up food and drink stalls to keep the vibes high on and off court

You can see the full schedule here.

As well as showcasing elite talent, the festival has a big focus on grassroots play and inclusivity, with sessions designed to encourage everyone to give something new a go.

“The Trilogy festival is about more than sport – it’s about community, fun and creating access for all. We’ve got something for every age and stage, and a few special surprises along the way,” said Barry Fulcher, founder of The Progress Tour.

Want in? You can register to take part in a tournament, a workshop or a taster class here (many are free), or just turn up to spectate and soak up the atmosphere.
