CANCELLED brighton pride to return in august

Could summer be back on? The organisers of Brighton Pride certainly think so as they announced that the planned 30th anniversary celebrations for Brighton & Hove Pride will go ahead this August. And if ever there was a time to promote tolerance, diversity, inclusion and education, it’s now.

The decision was made following the government’s recently announced roadmap, which puts an end to social distancing rules on 21st June – all being well.

If you didn’t snap up a ticket for Fabuloso! Pride In The Park in the first release, you can grab one now – but be quick, as demand is high and the organisers say they may need to change capacities to meet any new government guidelines.

As ever, proceeds from the tickets cover the running costs of the official Pride events (the festival, the parade and the village party) and contribute to vital LGBTQ+ community fundraising for the Rainbow Fund and Pride Social Impact Fund, as well as other important Pride community grant programmes.

Mariah Carey was scheduled to headline in 2020 before the pandemic meant everything got cancelled, but who’s it going to be now? The organisers say planning is well underway, so watch this space…
