Charleston Festival is the annual arts festival of talks, performances and workshops that takes place in the beautiful grounds of Charleston House, the former home of Vanessa Bell and Duncan Grant.
Inspired by the radical and influential Bloomsbury Group (who were frequent visitors to Charleston), it brings together today’s most exciting artists, thinkers and change makers who explore the transformative power of creativity, art and literature.
As always, this year’s festival is curated with a stellar line-up of bold voices and brilliant minds. From national treasures Grayson Perry and Ruth Jones, to Brighton musician Bat for Lashes and art activists Led By Donkeys – who we saw last night.
Taking place from 14th to 26th May, the festival is in full swing with event tickets or day tickets available. There’s a well-stocked book shop and bar, as well as delicious street food and a festival shuttle bus that runs straight to the house from Lewes.
