the ivy asia opens in brighton

The Ivy are adding another branch to their burgeoning collection of Sussex restaurants (they recently opened in Chichester) and this time it’s The Ivy Asia. The two-storey restaurant opens in Ship Street, where their vibrant Asian-inspired menu offers everything from lunch and dinner to afternoon tea and decadent cocktails. Oh, and there are daily DJ sets, too.

And, in typical Ivy fashion, minimalism is not on the menu: there’s luminous green onyx flooring, striking artwork all over the walls and ceilings and brightly hued Asian fabrics all vying for your attention. Expect that lot to be flooding the ‘gram very soon.

Obviously the menus draw inspiration from Asia, with dishes made for sharing including yellowtail sashimi with truffle salad, Wagyu beef maki rolls, clay pot glazed Japanese mushrooms, and popcorn shrimp tempura.

The same goes for the bar, where cocktails like the Sakura Royale (cherry blossom vermouth, rose liqueur and champagne) and the Beijing Sling (vodka, plum sake, jasmine, vanilla, lime and apple) sit alongside Jing speciality Asian teas and wine and sake lists. East meets South in style this summer.
