The Brighton eateries in the Good Food Guide’s top 100 local restaurants list

Three Brighton and Hove restaurants have been named in The Good Food Guide’s 100 Best Local Restaurants in the UK. They’re all BOTI faves – are they yours, too?

Brighton small-plates eatery Med, Hove wine shop and restaurant Fourth and Church, and intimate South American-Indian hotspot Palmito all made it into the top 100.

But scooping the top prize for our region was the inventive Med – they were named the Best Local Restaurant in the south-east.

A great birthday present for the popular Little East Street restaurant which has just turned four and recently featured on Come Dine With Me: The Professionals (a must-watch, by the way).

It’s no easy feat to make it into the guide’s top 100 local restaurants, either. The list is compiled following 60,000 public nominations, six weeks of anonymous inspections and intensive deliberation by the judges.

“We were blown away when we found out the news… It’s pretty mad to think we were nominated by so many people, and that we were being inspected and assessed anonymously by The Good Food Guide before they came to their decision,” said Med co-owner Jack Southan (pictured left with co-owner Will Dennard).
