OctoberBest is back and it’s looking tastier than ever

The Brighton & Hove food scene is kind of a big deal, and not just in our opinion, either. Every year, the Brighton’s Best Restaurants team develop affordable fixed-price menus in celebration of the cream of the city’s restaurant crop and this year is no different: OctoberBest is back!

Yes, the much-loved affordable foodie festival is returning for the ninth year, bringing us more great menus from a whopping 31 of the city’s top restaurants in, you guessed it, October.

It’s a little different this year as you’ll be able to choose menus from one of three price bands – £25, £30 and £35 rather than the £25 fixed rate that was offered across the board previously.

“The new price bands we’ve introduced will give the restaurants the flexibility to offer great value at lunch and dinner, meaning there’s more choice for diners than ever before,” said Brighton’s Best co-founder Andy Lynes.

We love that even in this cost-of-living crisis we’ve still got an affordable way to discover more of the city’s great eateries that were voted into the top 30 at Brighton’s Best Restaurants’ awards. These include the always-excellent Med, Burnt Orange, Flint House and Palmito.

As ever, OctoberBest offers huge variety and this year’s line-up is looking particularly delicious with several newcomers. New for 2024 are Tom Shepherd’s fine-dining restaurant Dilsk, south-east Asian vegan eatery Bonsai Plant Kitchen, wood-fired restaurant Embers and Permit Room, the all-day bar-cafe from Dishoom – there’s something for everyone.

You’ll have to wait a little longer to get the lowdown on the participating restaurants’ menus as these won’t be released until nearer the time. In the meantime, check out all of the 2023 winners and the below list of all the participating restaurants and get salivating!
