get your free tacos in brighton this friday

Who doesn’t love a freebie on a Friday? If you’re into tacos, then head down to Wahaca on New Road tomorrow from 12.00pm and get yourselves in the queue for the Wahaca Taco Van as they’ll be giving out free tacos! They will be keeping those waiting in line topped up with guacamole and chips (a cheeky little starter), whilst keeping you entertained with some live music from Jorge’s Hot Club… a fun band doing a whole load of covers to keep your taco-loving toes tapping.

So why are they dishing out free tacos? Well, this Friday 28th June marks the start of Wahaca’s Brighton Beach Tacover (get it?), where they will be launching a Brighton-only special, Grilled Mackerel Tacos! They’ll be donating £1 from every dish sold to one of three local eco-awareness initiatives throughout the whole month. If you order the dish before 31st July then you will be helping the Brighton Dolphin Project, Plastic Free Brighton or Plastic-Free Pledge with their incredible work!

There will also be vegan and Gluten Free tacos on offer for your free taco Friday, so everyone can get their hands on one. And if you like what you try when you’re grabbing your freebie, then donate £1 and it will go towards the beach-clean campaign that is happening on Sunday 21st July. You can get involved in that too, so pop it in your diary. Local artist and marine plastics expert Claire Potter will also be working on something quite special to bring the campaign to life in the restaurant too, so keep an eye out for her bespoke piece developed from plastic collected during the beach clean!

If you’ve got little ones, then why not take advantage of their Kids Eat (Almost!) Free campaign running throughout the month. All they ask for is a £1 donation per child, eating with a paying adult. That’s a nice family meal out sorted then!

Tacover takes place on Friday 28th June, 12.00 – 3.00pm; Big Beach Clean takes place on Sunday 21st July
