the coal shed launch at home menu
After Sunday’s lockdown update was shared, one thing was clear and that was that we wouldn’t be eating out at our favourite restaurants before July. So, it’s not surprising to see that family (and BOTI) favourite Fatto a Mano are back doing takeaways (whoop) and another of the city’s best restaurants has also developed a finish at home option. Welcome back, The Coal Shed.
From this week, you’ll be able to have their weekly changing menu delivered to your door Thursday to Sunday and with a quick look at what’s on offer for their first menu this week, you’re in for a treat.
If you fancy giving this week’s a try (from Thursday), you’ll need to get your order in before 4.00pm the day before to ensure next day delivery to BN1, BN2 and BN3 addresses. If you’re out of that area, don’t worry, as you can order for collection as the dishes are made to be finished at home within six hours. Winner.
The main dish has been developed following the ethos of sister haunts The Salt Room and The Coal Shed, with generous portions served to share between two. So, if your ‘locky d’ experience is a solo one but you fancy a bit of a lux feast, that means you can eat it twice.
On this week’s Thursday to Saturday menu you can tuck into a starter of Burrata with grilled peach, mint and olive oil crisps (£4pp), with the choice of two tasty meat mains priced at £20 per head. Their Smoked Beef Short Rib will be served with Charlotte potatoes, maple glazed carrots, spring greens, chimichurri, pickled red onion and chilli. Or you could go for the Moroccan Spiced Shoulder of Lamb (feature image), served with chopped aubergine with tomatoes and coriander, chickpea with hummus, smoked garlic and bitter lemon, spiced raw carrot salad, harissa yoghurt, zhoug, za’atar flatbread. Both are served with a Chocolate Pot dessert with Morello cherry, cookies and cream. HELLO…
If you’ve been missing their incredible Sunday roasts, then the good news is that their Sunday menu swaps out the short rib on the main for Roast Sirloin of Beef (pictured above) with roasted potatoes, heritage carrots, curly kale, pan roasted gravy and a Yorkshire pudding. You can add their creamy cauliflower cheese for £3 too. The lamb is also on the Sunday menu and their Sunday dessert will be an Apple Tarte Fine with custard.
We’re pretty sure this new menu is going to be a popular one, so get in there quick to put your order in. Missing something off their full menus? They’re open to suggestions so drop them an email.
