bag yourself some free art with the city’s first culture drop

How do you fancy getting your crafty little hands on some free artwork to don your tired walls? Yes, we said free art. To celebrate Brighton’s diverse and creative culture, the team behind local creative agency Grizzly Bear have launched The Culture Drop, a series of weekly episodes on social media, which explore Brighton’s creative side.

Each episode has been carefully curated to explore what it’s like to be a start-up in the city, being honest and open about what they are trying to build here in Brighton. Rather than watching the city’s creative culture from the sidelines, these guys are jumping straight in. And we are so with them. Fancy joining us?

Founder Ben Hammond built the creative agency with a promise to cut through the noise and deliver first-class creativity and you only have to look at their website to get excited about what they’re trying to do. Inspired by the streets, the sea and the scene in Brighton & Hove, they want to build an all-inclusive culture in Brighton, “We need to be at the forefront of building a community. In comes the Culture Drop, which is a new social series where we’ll be collaborating with some of Brighton’s biggest influencers, from the art scene through to fashion and food, to show them off and drop some of their donated work or offers in the city for anyone to find, for free. We just want to do what no one else seems to be doing and supporting the people that inspire us every day while we’re at it.”

This is right up our street-art-covered street. If you dig this, too, then head over to Facebook to take a look at their first episode here to get a flavour for what’s to come. The first lucky art prize winner bagged themselves artwork from local artist Cassette Lord and the second episode is out on Monday. The future looks bright if her previous work is anything to go by, as we have a sneaking suspicion it’s in collaboration with one of our favourite local artists who’s doing great things in the community with her work. Take a look at their teaser and see what you think…
