Brighton Book Festival returns with another banging line-up

Two hugely successful editions on from their 2022 debut, Brighton Book Festival is back for 2024.

This year’s festival, the brilliant brainchild of Afrori Books and The Feminist Bookshop founders Carolynn Bain and Ruth Wainwright, runs across six days with over 13 inspiring live and online events.

Just like the previous years, there’s a pretty incredible line-up, including a night of booze, books and belly-laughs with Helen Lederer, Honey Spencer and Lauren Rae plus an event hosted by Guardian writer and author Nels Abbey that explores the power of funny.

What else can you expect? Festival-goers can look forward to a poetry workshop with Aflo the poet and Ray Mcfarlane, plus writing workshops, interactive discussions on activism and beauty standards (the latter event includes massage, yoga and free beauty samples!), a poetry cafe with music and spoken word, a one-day family festival within the festival, and much more.

Coinciding with Independent Bookshop Week (15th – 22nd June), it’s a great time to celebrate the power of books in the community.
