BOTI Reviews | Biscuit Barrel: The 69-Sketch Show

Biscuit Barrel: The 69-Sketch Show does exactly what it says on the tin. A fast and furious quick-fire comedy show of 69 micro sketches in under an hour. A cheeky nod to a TikTok generation with the attention span of just a short moment before scrolling on.

After their sell-out Edinburgh Fringe performances last year they are back in Brighton for the sixth time in the magical Spiegeltent, performing in the Bosco Theatre.

We took our seats inside the packed-out auditorium on the hottest day of the year (which made the show even more remarkable) as the Biscuit Barrel players kept their cool. They flew around the stage, performing sketch after sketch after sketch. They used props, slapstick, they sang, they beatboxed, they changed into costumes – all of it at breakneck speed.

We’d say this performance appeals to all ages (over 14 because some of it is spicy) and since so much comedy content is thrown at you in such a short space of time, there’s definitely something for everyone.

We laughed loads at some sketches and less at others, but all in all it’s a mesmerising performance. We can see why it has such great sell-out appeal every time it comes to Brighton.

You can catch Biscuit Barrel: The 69-Sketch Show’s last Brighton performance on Sunday 12th May if you’re quick, or if you fancy a trip, you can see them in London or at the Edinburgh Fringe this summer.

Sunday 12th May; 6pm; from £8
