It’s been a busy week for BOTI readers, filled with colour, competitions and, of course, deciding how exactly you’re going to say farewell to dry January this weekend. There are always plenty of options. Here’s our guide to the best of this weekend in Brighton, Hove and beyond…

Cocktails and cosiness at L’Atelier Du Vin’s last weekend
L’Atelier Du Vin has become quite the cosy corner of Kensington Gardens since the doors opened to the prohibition cocktail and wine bar last May. This Sunday 3rd February will sadly be their last day of trading at this site, so we’d recommend heading down there to enjoy the warmth and wine in this chilly weather. All is not lost, though, as they’ll be packing up their vintage glasses, extensive wine collection and incredible spirits and taking it all to their new venue, along with all their lovely staff. And you won’t have to go far either as their new home is just down the road at St George’s Place. The team are working hard to create a mezzanine to host large groups as we speak and they hope to be able to open the doors within a couple of weeks. We’ll be the first to update you on the exact date, but to get a taste of what’s to come, check out our ‘new’ Instagram highlights…
Open from midday Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday

Last-minute getaway for film and fun? (featured image)
We’re big fans of Cinecity, Brighton’s annual film festival, so if, like us, you’re already looking for your next film fix, then get yourself over to Eastbourne this weekend as the Overnight Film Festival kicks off on Friday 1st February. It’s a unique communal cinema experience taking place at the Queens Hotel in Eastbourne and you can choose from a day trip ticket for £12.50 or make a weekend of it and go for the ‘sleepover’ option; the ticket price includes a hotel stay, making it a great excuse to head out of the city for the weekend. Special guest curators will be leading a programme of unique screenings, immersive discussions and incredible parties over the whole weekend… and yes, there are still tickets!

Get seedy this Sunday
Yes, we may well have just had the first snow of the year, but the beautiful winter sunshine that’s come with it has definitely added a little ‘spring’ to our step, especially as we’ve got our hands on our first daffs of the season… oh yes, spring may well be on its way… yeay! To celebrate the start of the gardening year, head up to BHASVIC for Seedy Sunday, where you’ll have the chance to swap seeds, get seed-saving advice from experts, listen to garden enthusiasts lead insightful talks and work your way around over fifty stalls with a range of plants, produce and community connections. There will be a pop-up café from Infinity Food sponsors, too, so you won’t go hungry. Plant power!
Sunday 3rd February, 10.30am – 4.30pm; £3, kids go free
Brighton, Hove & Sussex Sixth Form (BHASVIC), 205 Dyke Rd, Hove BN3 6EG

Macramé Magic
And if you’ve got any energy left after a super seedy Sunday, head up to Holler Brewery for CULT MILK’s macramé hanger workshop. It’ll be a good’un!
