the last week of luna beach cinema

It’s officially summer, which means the open-air Luna Beach Cinema is back on Brighton’s lovely shingles, but we’re already in the final week of the line-up! Taking over the site from the immersive Love Island experience (bye bye, islanders), it’s now all about seeing some of the year’s biggest films as well as some old favourites on that mahoosive screen.

Kicking off their second beach season on 31st July with 2019 Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper hit A Star is Born, this year’s programme has something for everyone.  Think crowd pleasers like Mamma Mia: Here we go again, Mary Poppins Returns and The Greatest Showman and this year’s big hitter Bohemian Rhapsody (a sing-along screening no less) to retro classics like Dirty Dancing, Pretty Woman and Top Gun.

Animation hasn’t been neglected either with Disney’s 2019 releases Dumbo and Aladdin in the line-up as well as back-to-back showings of the original Star Wars trilogy for sci-fi fans. And theatre buffs can enjoy a special screening of the smash-hit, Brighton-set farce One Man, Two Guvnors, in partnership with National Theatre Live to mark its tenth birthday

With a fully stocked bar, gourmet street food, it’s the perfect spot in the city to get comfy and watch away the hours. For ultimate comfort we’d recommend a deckchair or even your own private beach hut (complete with fully stocked drinks fridge and private butler. What are we really looking forward to though? Yep, it’s got to be that all-time classic Sharknado

We’re running a flash giveaway over on Instagram for tickets to their final shows. Go and check it out!
