celebrate btn bikeshare’s 1st birthday and cycle september

The sun is still shining, so there’s really no excuse not to get cycling, especially since it’s so easy now we have our very own equivalent of the Boris bike, the BTN BikeShare cycles or, as they’re more commonly known, the Life Bikes. They seem like such a staple of everyday life, we can’t believe it’s only been a year since they first arrived in the city!

To celebrate their first birthday BTN BikeShare and cycling enthusiasts Love to Ride are hosting a free bike breakfast and networking event at The Meeting Place Café on Brighton seafront this Thursday. We understand there will be free bike services from Dr Bike, as well as pastries, hot drinks, birthday cake and everything, so we reckon it’s at least worth making a pit-stop en route to work.

The event also marks the start of Cycle September, an initiative (with an optional competitive edge) designed to get more people on bikes, whether you’re an everyday rider or haven’t hopped on a non-stationary bike since you were about seven (*waves*). On yer bikes!

Thursday 6th September, 8am – 10am; free
