Get dancing on a fiver this Friday
The annual Battlejam is back for their only event a Volks this year, so if you’re into a bit of Funk, Soul, DnB and the rest, then this is one night to get yourself down to. It’s only a fiver entry before 12.30am and you’ll be lucky enough to shake your Friday night tailfeather at A.Skillz and JPB as they do a special two-hour back to back set.

On Saturday The Old Market will be hosting a big party to celebrate some of the best bands in the local music scene who are making noise at the moment. Yes, we’re talking Moves festival and it’s going to be one hell of a party. You can expect to hear music from Brighton bands including Normanton Street, Kudu Blue and Bobbie Johnson, to name just a few. J Felix will also be bringing an ace DJ set to the party, before NAWA! bring some of Brighton’s best afrobeat vibes to keep you move-ing until the wee hours of the morning.

Big Bang at the Brunswick

If shaking your thing at Moves festival gets you going on Saturday and you fancy finishing off the weekend with even more fab new music, then head over to the Brunswick in Hove for the Brighton Jazz Mafia. It is just as it sounds… scarily good, with this eighteen-piece band performing a mix of sounds from classic jazz and swing repertoire to their own arrangements. What a way to end a weekend…
