There’s nothing quite like sipping a freshly made cocktail as you listen to the gentle sound of waves lapping at a tropical sandy shoreline while the sun fades through a kaleidoscope of colours as it sets. But sadly, in good old Blighty, these things are subject to the vagaries of our delightful weather. Plus, pebbles. But what if it didn’t have to be that way? Welcome to Brighton’s secret digital beach.
Head to Pop-Up Brighton on 8th and 9th September and you’ll be transported to an idyllic beach setting (even more idyllic than the actual one just outside), complete with all the sounds, sights, smells and tastes you’d expect, from palm trees to waves at your feet. The organisers say they’re achieving the transformation of the space with immersive projection, but we reckon there must be a bit of sorcery involved, too, to achieve something quite this convincing.
But this isn’t just any beach, oh no. This one comes complete with your very own personal mixologist to guide you expertly through a beach-inspired cocktail-making masterclass. During your 90-minute session, you’ll learn how to create three bespoke cocktails from premium spirits, including a vibrant colour-changing cocktail. You’ll also learn how to balance flavours and serve the drink in style. And you may even discover a message in a bottle!
This is the second immersive event organised by Thomas Buckley’s Popup Forest – last time, they transported visitors to a digital woodland glen for a cocktail class and it was magical. We can’t wait to hit the beach!
