giant water slide lands in brighton

We love this hot weather. No, really, it’s great. Well, ok, if you’re pushing us, we’ll admit that it’s a bit hot on occasion. Yes, and quite sticky, actually. And sometimes even when we’re sitting around in just our pants with a giant cocktail, violently waggling a fan hastily constructed from a discarded cereal packet, it’s just not doing it for us. What we really need is an open-air water slide, we were thinking to ourselves just the other day. And guess what? The universe has obliged! Well, actually, brilliant local charity Amaze have, and we’re very happy about it.

Yes, the charity who support Sussex families with disabled children are bringing their enormous 100-metre slide back to Brighton this Saturday. Head to Queen’s Park from 10am and you’ll be able to whizz your way down all that lovely H20 on a blow-up cushion. And we’re pleased to say it’s not just for kids, either. In fact, anyone from 6 to 106 can have a go (a bit tough if you’re 107, though). They also welcome riders of all abilities and will be looking out for anyone who may need priority on the day.

With temperatures set to soar back above 25C on Saturday, we’re sure we won’t be the only ones looking to cool down, so we’d recommend booking your slot in advance rather than chancing it on the day. And with all the ticket proceeds going to help the charity’s work, there’s never been a better reason to slide into summer.
